A global workplace means that educators as well as others will be working across cultures with diverse learning styles and communication preferences. This article by three very experienced and respected online facilitators, combines anecdotal information about teaching online across cultures, with some practical and grounded ideas for all practitioners about creating a ‘learning culture' amongst a group of students. The topic is important and timely and the authors clearly have some valuable experience on which to draw. We are given an interesting and vivid picture of some of the issues facing online teachers in a global environment. The practical recommendations are useful and appropriately pitched. This article is an excellent addition to the field.
