Michael Coghlan
Michael Coghlan is the eLearning Coordinator at the Douglas Mawson Institute of Technology in South Australia. Michael is currently facilitating a national LearnScope project to further explore the use of voice online with VET practitioners from all Australian states, and is working with the organising committee for NET*Working 2004 to implement the use of these tools in the conference program.
This article gives an overview of what types of voice tools are available, and describes how they are being used in synchronous and asynchronous learning environments. It attempts to break down the security and pedagogical barriers practitioners face in integrating real time voice-to-voice interactions into their learning strategies.
