Sue Goodbourn

Sue Goodbourn is a curriculum officer at University of Ballarat (TAFE). Her key role is in helping teachers incorporate new practices into their teaching i.e. employability skills, using Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) and graded assessment.

This extensive article offers three underpinning principles to guide the development and implementation of Vocational Education and Training (VET) teacher induction, arguably the most critical factor developing the VET professional. Based on research, the article explores the reasons for, and the levels and benefits of, a good practice program and expands on the elements of 'who', 'what', 'when', 'how' and 'where' that organisations could consider when developing their induction programs for beginning teachers. Just about everything you ever wanted to know about induction of teachers in VET.
