M-learning and the new students' thinking
Cecilie Murray
Cecilie Murray is Director of Delphian eLearning Pty. Ltd. She is an Australian leader in the use of information and communications technologies (ICT) in schools, specialising in strategic implementation of e-learning using emerging technologies. She is also well known for her work in m-learning, professional development, online teaching and digital content development. She was senior manager of eLearning at the Department of Education & Training, Victoria and at emagine, the Centre of Excellence in Online Learning for the Department of Education, Tasmania.
Cecilie has established two virtual schools delivering curricula across mainstream schools. She managed the first digital content development for The Le@rning Federation for all Australian schools. She has worked internationally on projects in Thailand, Indonesia, UK and Japan. Cecilie has a background in languages other than English (LOTE), humanities and distance education.

This article provides readers, especially those teaching and researching in the school sector, with much to think about in terms of educating future generations, starting with the highly topical Generation Y or Millennials. What do we really know about our students? How can we better respond to, and meet, their needs? The author invites some further and much needed discussion about issues regarding teaching the future student in a world of ever-increasing technology.
