Enterprising institutions: creating relevancy for industry
Dr Martin Valcke is currently Professor of Instructional Sciences and Head of the Department of Educational Sciences at Ghent University in Belgium. His main fields of interest are innovation in higher education and the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
In this interview Martin talks briefly about European experiences in providing demand driven, relevant, enterprise learning and the implications for tertiary organisations of such collaboration with industry. In a recent keynote address to efest 2005 in Wellington, New Zealand, Martin spoke on competency based education, recognition of prior informal learning experiences, using e-learning to establish fresh relevance for industry, and new institutional formats.
